The Iranian checkpoints forces in Kurdistan opened fire at the Kurdish Kurdish border porters –known as Kolbar- of which three of the Kolbars were wounded, local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Hassan Heydari from the village of Tooreh at Safavid district of Khoy has been wounded by direct shooting of the checkpoint forces on 9 November. He is being treated at Khoy’s Imam Khomeini Hospital for the bullets in his hip and testicles.

Border guards have also targeted a group of Kolbars and tradesmen at the border area of Shakhe Rokhav on 11 November where two Kolbars, including 32-year old Sirwan Saadat Nia 50-year old Soleiman Abtin, were wounded and taken to the Choman general hospital in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. According to the statistics compiled by the KHRN, five Kurdish Kolbars and tradesmen were killed and 12 others were wounded only in October. A Kolbar also collapsed and died as a result of being chased by the Iranian border guards.
