Iranian border guards targeted a group of Kurdish border porters, known as Kolbar, in Alan border area of Sardasht on October 18, 2019, which led to the injury of a Kolbar, local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Eskandar Hamzezdeh, a Kolbar from Dinaran of Sardasht and father of two children who was shot by the Iranian border guards, is currently under medical care at one of the hospitals in Orumiyehdue to the severity of his injuries.

In the past few days, Semko Khalili Baghcheh, a tradesman in the Jandar border area of Salmas, was also shot and injured by the Iranian border guards.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, at least four Kolbars and tradesmen have been killed while eight others have been wounded in the border crossings since late September. Another Kolbar was wounded in a landmine explosion.
