Several civilians have been summoned and detained by the Iranian security and law enforcement for participating in rallies took place spontaneously and peacefully in several Iranian cities against the Turkish Army’s invasion of north and east of Syria, known as Rojava, several sources confirmed to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
Social media activists and users posted many photos and videos of gatherings in the cities of Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Marivan, Baneh, Saqqez, Sardasht, Orumiyeh, Tehran, Mahabad, Bukan, Qatar, Islamabad, Javanrood, Ivan, Ilam, Paveh, Ravansar protesting the Turkish Army incursion into the north and east of Syria.
During a protest rally in Marivan on Friday, October 8, 2019, when protesters were passing by the city’s intelligence office, security forces raided and beaten some by batons. The protesters were arrested and taken to the yard of the security establishment.
A civil activist in Orumiyeh said in an interview with the KHRN that “at least 20 people” were detained during a protest by Iranian security forces in the city.
Security forces also detained a number of participants during a protest rally in front of the Turkish Embassy in Tehran. Although some of them were released on bail the same day, others remain in Evin detention.
Some of the participants in the recent protests in the cities of Saqqez, Dehgolan, Sanandaj, Mahabad, Sardasht, Paveh and Ravansar were summoned to the Intelligence Agencies and some were arrested.
The names of a number of detainees obtained by the KHRN, along with the date of detention, are as follows:
Omid Haghparast, Hemmat Karimi, Mobin Karimi, Diako Taba, Kamal Konueposhi (a member of the Central Committee of the Green Chiay Association) and Mohammad Bahrami were arrested in Marivan on October 11.
Ayoub Ahmadian, Yassin Karimpour, Behzad Ashairi, Jafar Badri, Reza Pour Rahimi, Hamid Tavana, Rahman Afzonfar, Nariman Motamedi, Hamzeh Gheisvandi, Ayoub Ebnari, Shirzad Mohammadi are were arrested during a protest rally on October 12.
Sanandaj: Fawad Enayati and Mobin Khosravi 13 and 14 October
Sardasht: Heyman Abdullahi, Sami Karimi and Abdullah Soleimani 14 October
Baneh: Cordo Samiee, Salam Rahimi, Azad Rahmadian, Bahaddin Hosseini, Faria Younesi, Ebrahim Shouriie and Seyyed Rahim Maroufi 13 October
Paveh: Honar Hosseini, Kamal Kiani, Basat Mohammadi, Ehsan Aghaei, Kayhan Azizi and Kusar Mohammadi 14 October
Orumiyeh: Omid Maleki, Reza Ismaili and Keyvan Zare 13 October
Three labour activistsSeyed Ali Hosseini, Mahmood Salehi, and Osman Ismaili were summoned by the Intelligence Unit of IRGC. Seyed Ali Hosseini had been already interrogated by the security forces on 13 October.
A group of Kurdish lawyers, university professors, Kurdish civil activists, a number of Kurdish political prisoners in Iranian prisons, the Yarsan Consultative Assembly of Civil Activists also released statements on the Turkish Army offensive against Rojava and condemned, and they urged the international community to take immediate action to stop it. Earlier, a group of Kurdish lawyers had condemned the attack in front of the Bar Association of Kurdistan province.
It isthe eighth day the Turkish Army attacking north and east of Syria, and according to statistics released by human rights organisations based in those areas, at least 75 civilians have been killed and more than 400 others injured by day six.
