The family of Houshmand Alipour and Mohammad Ostadghader (Two members of the Kurdistan Freedom Party who were arrested on Aug 3, 2018 by security forces near Saqqez) visited them on Oct 28 and 29. Security interrogators told the families that they will be transferred to the Saqqez {Prosecutor’s Office in two weeks.

An informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that “Mohammad Ostadaghader’s father and Houshmand Alipour’s family have visited their sons on Oct 28 and 29 at the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility in the city of Sanandaj. Security interrogators have reported the continued detention of these two detainees for two more weeks at the Detention facility.”

According to the source, the visit was held with the presence of security interrogators and the interrogators did not allow the two detainees to sign the power of attorney which families of these two prisoners had taken with them.

“Over the past weeks, one of the judges at the Saqqez Court of Justice explained the charges of the afore-mentioned prisoners to them and they will be deprived of the right to legal counsel until they are interrogated at Intelligence Ministry’s Detention facility in the city of Sanandaj.”, the source added.

Houshmand Alipour and Mohammad Ostadghader, members of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), were arrested on Saturday, Aug 3, 2018 in Saqqez Road in Baneh. The security forces initially transferred them to the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility in the city of Baneh and then to the Intelligence Ministry’s Central Detention Facility in the city of Sanandaj.

Since their arrest, they have briefly called their families and informed them that they were held at a security detention centre.

Amnesty International has expressed its concern about the confessions of the two detained activists in September by publishing a statement. “ On 7 August, Iran’s state news agency, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), broadcasted a programme showing these prisoners confessing to playing a role in the attack on the Security Base in Saghez. This measure is a clear violation of the rights of detainees in the sense of not being forced to confess against themselves and enjoy the principle of innocence and protection from cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment.”

Kamal Ahmadnejad, Zanyar and Loghman Moradi,(three political prisoners who have been executed in Rajaee Shahr and Miandoab prisons this year) in an interview with KHRN had revealed the details of the tortures at the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention facility led them to make false confessions against themselves.
