On September 26,2018, the Kurdistan Provincial Governorate published a confidential announcement titled “Solidarity and Integrity against Terrorism” and asked all governmental institutions and authorities in Sanandaj to utilize all the governmental facilities and close Sanandaj market on the morning of Wednesday, September 26 2018 while asking all the guilds and merchants of this city to gather in the city’s mosque in protest against Ahwaz terrorist attack.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network(KHRN) has been informed that the Kurdistan Provincial Governorate has urged government agencies and Institutions to force the Guilds and shopkeepers in Sanandaj, to close the market From 10:00 to 12:00 this morning with the aim of “preserving the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and attend a ceremony held at a designated time at the Sanandaj Grand Mosque in glorification of the martyrs of the Ahwaz terrorist attack”.

In this letter, all security and military institutions were asked to file a general and integrated strike on Wednesday, Sept 12, 2018, at the request of Kurdish parties and civil activists in protest of the execution of four political prisoners and a missile attack on the Kurdish parties, to response to the Kurdish parties.

According to reports from Sanandaj, following the announcement of the Kurdistan Provincial Governorate, police forces and the Office of Places in Sanandaj have closed the commercial complexes by exercising power while threatening other businesses and shopkeepers with prosecution In case they open their shops.

Moreover, security forces hanged a banner at the entrance to the commercial complexes without the knowledge of the merchants and traders, a move that was met with protests from some shopkeepers and residents of Sanandaj.
