Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): Four Kurdish Political prisoners, Mehrdad Sabouri, Aram Mohammadi, Omid Ahmadi and Shaho Sadeghi, were released from Kamyaran prison.

According to KHRN, Mehrdad Sabouri and Omid Ahmadi were released on Thursday, February 11 upon the leniency shown by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the occasion of the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. They had served one-third of their one-year prison term. On the same day, Shaho Sadeghi and Aram Mohammadi, were also released at the end of their three months sentence.

These above-mentioned activists were arrested by security forces on May 13 and 14, 2018, and were later released on bail after a week of interrogations. At the same time, two other activists, Rozhin Ebrahimi and Delniya Sabouri, were summoned to the Intelligence Office and interrogated for several hours.

On Oct 3, 2016, the trial of these six activists was held at Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court on the charge of propaganda against the state. According to the verdict, Mehrdad Sabouri, Delniya Sabouri, Rozhin Ebrahimi and Omid Ahmadi were each sentenced to one year in prison while Aram Mohammadi and Shaho Sadeghi were each sentenced to three months and one day in prison

The initial verdict for Shaho Sadeghi, Aram Mohammadi, Mehrdad Sabouri and Omid Ahmadi, was affirmed by the Court of Appeal but the imprisonment sentence for Rojin Ebrahimi and Delnia Sabouri was reduced to 3 days. All these people were transferred to Kamyaran Prison in December last year to serve their sentence.
