In the past few days, security forces in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, have detained four Kurdish civilians and transferred them to an unknown location.

“On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, security forces arrested three civilians named Soran Nasiri, Omid Abbasi and Soran Mokhtari in the city of Gog Tappeh, the villages of Inder Qash and Haji Khosh of Mahabad. The security forces searched the homes of these people and confiscated a number of their personal belongings”, an informed source in Mahabad told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). 

Following the arrest of these people in Mahabad, Rebwar Padast, a resident of Gog Tappeh, was also arrested by security forces on Thursday, July 2, and taken to an unknown location. No information has been provided on the reason for the arrests and the charges against these civilians.
