Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): Since late February, one Kolbar has been killed and at least six injured after being directly shot by Iranian border guards. During this time, three Kolbars, one of whom was 17 years old, have lost their life due to frost and falling from mountains.

On the evening of March 16, 2019, Iranian border guards in the Nawsoud border targeted a young Kolbar called ‘Masoud Teymouri’ and shot him in his leg. A reliable source told KHRN that this young Kolber, from the village of Clash in Biyangan of Paweh, had not been carrying any cargo but Iranian border guards had still targeted him by Winchester-type weapons from a close distance.

According to this source, another Kolbar ‘Azim Ahmadi’ was killed by direct shootings of the border forces of the Nawsoud and nine other Kolbars were wounded at the same area in 2018/19. Moreover, three Kolbars were wounded by the mine blast in the area.

According to statistics compiled by KHRN, on March 14, 2019, the Iranian border guards directly shot and wounded Rafi Arefi at the Baneh border on March 8, 2019, Abu Bakr at the border of Piranshahr on March 02, 2019, Mohammad Shamaeili at the border of Piranshahr on March 01, 2019, Shafi Samadi at Khoy border on Feb 24, 2019, Majid Azimi at Khoy border and Omid Heidari at the border town of Piranshahr on Feb 20, 2019. On March 3, 2019, a Kolbar known as Seyyed Vahed Brzanji was killed by the direct shooting of border guards in Piranshahr.

Meanwhile, A 17-year-old Kolbar, Afshar Sayyadi Niaz, choked with snow after falling from the high mountains in Tata of Paweh While two other Kolbars, Taher Adibi and Farhar Naghshi lost their life in Chaldoran Area due to frostbite.
