“Five citizens from the Kurdish town of Shno (also known in Farsi as Oshnavieh ) were transferred from Orumiyeh Intelligence Agency detention centre to Orumiyeh Central Prison,” a reliable source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN)
“Mohamad Royan, Vali Sharifi, Reza Ezat Taj, Faroq Shafahi and Saber Rasoulpour were arrested on 3 April 2016 in Shno by Iranian security forces and they were brought to Oroumiyeh Intelligence Agency detention centre. They were held there for two weeks prior to being transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison on 16 April,” the source said.
“All of them have been charged with ‘collaboration with an outlawed Kurdish party’ and they are now kept among dangerous inmates including drug offenders and murderers. The cells were chosen on orders by the prison governor.’ the source said.
KHRN considers it important to also mention that Mohamad Royan’s father, Osman Royan, was a member of an outlawed Kurdish political party and he was assassinated in 1995 in the Diyana area od Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
