Two sources from Saqqez and Sanandaj have told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that the security forces have been widely present at the burial ceremonies of Arvin Moratab and Aida Farzaneh in Behesht-e Mohammadi of Sanandaj in addition to the burial ceremonies of Rezgar Rahimi and his son Zhivan Rahimi in Saqqez.

“Despite pressure and threats from security agencies to cover the coffins of Arvin Moratab and Aida Farzaneh with the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran and bury their bodies in the martyrs’ section of Sanandaj cemetery, The families refused to bury their loved ones in the martyr’s section of Sanandaj Cemetryand and buried them in Behesht-e Mohammadi in Sanandaj instead without using the flag of the Islamic Republic.“ the sources added.

The people of Sanandaj chanted slogans in honer of Aida Farzaneh and Arvin Moratab, the victims of the Ukrainian passenger jet shot by the Islamic of the Republic of Iran. Despite the insistence of the security agencies, the family refused to bury their children in the “martyrs’ piece” and to cover their bodies with the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the same time, according to reports from Saqqez, the body of Rezgar Rahimi and his son, Zhivan Rahimi, were buried in a heavily guarded cemetery today with the participation of hundreds of civilians.The body of one of the victims called Farideh Ghulami- Resgar Rahimi’s wife who was pregnant -has also been handed over to her family in Eslam Abad Qarb.

Covering the coffins of one of the victims with the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mahabad sparked protests by the victim’s family and relatives.
