Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): The verdict for Farshad Abbasi, a Kurdish civilian who was previously sentenced to 5 years in prison by branch 1 of Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court on the charge of membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties, was equally approved by branch 13 of the Court of Appeal in Orumiyeh
This Kurdish civilian was arrested last August by the forces of the Orumiyeh Intelligence Office and he was transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison after a month of interrogation at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre.
His hearing was held in May without the right to have an appointed lawyer.
Prison authorities have so far denied the repeated requests of this political prisoner to transfer him to the political prisoners’ ward and he is currently detained in ward 3-4 of Ordinary Crimes.
