Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that in the past few days, the 5-year prison sentence for a Kurdish civilian Sediq Seifi from Diwandareh was upheld by the Sanandaj Court of Appeal.

He was previously sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Branch 1 of Sanandaj Islamic Revolutionary Court on charges of “acting against national security” through cooperation with the Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK).

Sediq Seifi was arrested by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on August 8, 2009, but he was released on a bail of 200 million Tomans after being held in the Shahramfar Detention Center for about three months.
