Kolbars and border tradesmen spend deathlike days in the border areas of Kurdistan. Only in the past 48 hours, two kolbars have been shot by border guards in Piranshahr while another one has been wounded.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that the Iranian border guards of Kani Khoda in Piranshahr targeted a caravan of Kolbars on the evening of Thursday, Nov 29, 2018, which resulted in the death of a Kolbat, Farhad Bianak and injury of his brother, Sediq Bianak.

It is noteworthy hat forces of the Malteh Police Station in Baneh opened fire on a caravan of the Kolbars on Nov 29, 2018 which resulted in the death of a 30-year-old Kolbar, Hadi Salimi, married with two children, and injury of two other kolbars.

In an interview regarding the death of the above kolbars with IRNA, the Director General of Political and Law Enforcement of Kurdistan Governorate did not mention that these people were kolbars. Instead, he claimed that the afore-mentioned people had been shot by border guards due to illegally crossing the border.

Even though the Iranian border guards are aware of the route being used by kolbars and tradesmen to earn a living, they continue shooting them due to lack of judicial investigations regarding such deliberate shootings.
