Hajar Ardesi, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Agh Gol located in Maku County, has been detained by the Intelligence Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) since late August and he is still in custody, a reliable source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“Ardesi was transferred to the Khoy prison after five days in detention at the IRGC detention centre in Maku. She was initially kept in the prison for a week and he was then sent to IRGC detention centre in Orumiyeh.” the source added.

She has been held in the detention facility since early September and has been subjected to torture by the forces of the IRGC “for forced confessions and television interviews.”

The Kurdish civilian was deprived of any visits to her family during her five months in detention.
