Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): Hossein Kamangar, the Kurdish activist who has been detained since Jan 7, 2019, has not been in contact with his family since February.

“ He contacted his family on Feb 6, 2019 but he has not had any contact with them since then. Security interrogators have announced that he would be deprived of the right to visit his family until he agreed to have a TV confession.“, a reliable source told KHRN about the latest situation of Kamangar.

This activist, who had previously been arrested and imprisoned political charges twice, was last arrested by security forces in Kamyaran during a massive arrest of civil and political activists. He has been detained at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj for more than five months now. Moreover, his temporary arrest warrant has been extended four times so far.

KHRN has previously published a detail report about the Ministry of Intelligence’s scenario against detained Kurdish activists while expressing concern about the use of torture and forced confessions.
