Kurdish civilian Ghadrieh Ghaderi – a citizen of Iran and Turkey – was detained by security forces on 8 June 2010 in Orumiyeh. She was interrogated in the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh for about three months, being accused of “membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)”.
After the interrogation period, she was taken to Orumiyeh Central Prison.
In 2011, Ghaderi was sentenced to “10 years in prison” on charges of “membership in the PKK” by Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh, presided over by Judge Darvishi. She was denied her right to have a lawyer.
