The Iranian border guards directly targeted a group of Kurdish border porters (known Kolbars) and tradesmen at Khoy-Sardasht border area where a Kolbar and a tradesman got injured, local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Hamed Abed, a Kurdish tradesman from Qator of Khoy district, and Kurdish Kolbar Hiva Sadiqzadeh from Sardasht were targeted and wounded by the border guards in the border area of the two cities.

Hiva Sadiqzadeh was transferred to a hospital in Orumiyeh due to the seriousness of his injuries.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, six Kolbars and tradesmen shot dead by the Iranian border guards while five other tradesmen and Kolbars were injured only in December. Moreover, a Kolbar lost his life due to cardiac arrest and two others passed away due to frostbite, and another injured due to snow and cold during the same period. A civilian has also been injured due to a landmine explosion.
