Kurdistan Human Rights Network(KHRN): Zabiullah Raoufi, a 70-year-old resident of Sanandaj, was exiled to Minab to serve his one year exile sentence after serving his one year imprisonment sentence. He was sentenced to 1 Year of imprisonment and one year of exile to Minab by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj in December 2015 on charges of propaganda against the state and acting against national security through the promotion of Baha’ism.

This Bahá’í civilian was transferred to the Sanandaj Central Prison in November last year to serve his imprisonment and he was released on March 12, 2019, upon the leniency shown by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. After release, he was summoned to Branch 4 of the Islamic Revolutionary court of Minab in order to be exiled to Minab.

Zabiullah Raoufi was arrested in his home on September 8, 2015 by security forces and transferred to Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Centre in the city of Sanandaj. He was temporarily released on a bail of 30 million Tomans six days later.

The hearing of this prisoner was held at Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj on Dec 14, 2015, and he was sentenced to one-year in prison and one year of exile to the Minab on the charges of propaganda against the state and acting against national security through the promotion of Baha’ism.

Zabihollah Raoufi was also detained in 2009 and sentenced to one year in prison on the same charge of propaganda against the state. This sentence was reduced to six months of imprisonment and six months of exile to Tuyserkan, in Hamedan Province by the Court of Appeals. He was transferred to Tuyserkan Prison to serve his one-year imprisonment and exile in November 2009.

It is worth mentioning that Raoufi’s wife (Parvaneh Rahmani) was arrested in December 2015 along with her husband and faced a one year imprisonment sentence on the same charge by the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj.
