Azeri social media activist Hossein Habibvand detained during the November protests in Orumiyeh was released from Orumiyeh Central Prison on 10 December on a bail of 50 million tomans, a source told the Kurdish Human Rights Network (KHRN).
Hossein Habibvand was transferred to the Orumiyeh prison after several days of interrogation at the detention centre of one of the Orumiyeh Intelligence Bureau offices.
During the past few days, four other civilians, Parviz Naseri, Mansour Zinalali Zadeh, Salah Gholizadeh and Yavar Farzadi, all of whom detained during the recent protests in Orumiyeh, have been taken to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh as soon as their interrogation completed.
Hossein Habibvand had been arrested in May 2017 and sentenced to two years and eight months of imprisonment by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Orumiyeh on charges of “blasphemy” who was released in February last year under the amnesty of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei granted to prisoners before completing his remaining 10 months of imprisonment sentence.
