Following the conflict between one of the Kurdish parties and Iran’s guards, strict security measures have been taken in these areas and some regions of Kurdistan during the recent days.
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that at 22:00 on June 05, 2018, there was an armed conflict between unidentified gunmen and border guards at the “Beweran” border crossing of Sardasht, which resulted in the death of two border guards while two others were injured.
The conflict took place at the zero point of the border where four Sardasht border regiments had been ambushed.
One of the local people has told KHRN that the Sardasht border guards and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were deployed to the area and bombed the highlands a short time after the conflict.
Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the IRGC’s Ground Forces talked with Fars News Agency about the clashes between the forces of the Kurdish parties and the IRGC forces in the border areas of Oshnavieh and Sarv Abad.
He claimed that 16 members of the Kurdish Parties were killed and injured during three conflicts in the border areas of Oshnavieh and Sarv Abad but he did not mention the name of the Kurdish party in question.
In a conversation with Kurdish media, a Kurdish Democrat’s military official confirmed that there was a conflict between the Peshmerga of the party and IRGC forces in Oshnavieh but, dismissed the claim by the IRGC’s commanding force that some members of the party were killed, “On the eve of June 08, a clash between the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces took place in “Siah Kooh” in Oshnavieh, which resulted in the deaths of nine IRGC guards and injuries of 18 other guards,” he said.
Eyewitnesses in the villages around the mountains of Kosalan have told KHRN that a large number of army forces have been deployed to the area.
According to the witnesses, on the night of June 09, around the village of Goshkhani” and “Nasl” of the Mariwan, there was a short conflict between the IRGC forces and the forces of one of the Kurdish parties, but the exact number of casualties is not known yet, The IRGC troops bombarded the mountains around the village late at night.
