Sam Abbasi Goorejooyi (an artist and Yarsan activist), who was arrested on Thursday, July 12 by security forces, has been released on bail.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that this artist was released on bail on July 14, after being interrogated at the Kermanshah Intelligence Detention Centre. No information is available on the charges or allegations against this activist.

Following the earthquake in Kermanshah, Sam Abbasi Goorejooyi helped the earthquake victims in camps at Sarpol-Zahab and the suburbs for several months. He has also been an active member of the Yari Yaran group in continuing assistance to the Kermanshah earthquake-stricken areas. In the past few months, this artist has also participated in various Tanboor solo performances at several ceremonies held in support of Kermanshah people after the earthquake.

It is worth noting that a group of activists who have been active in helping the earthquake struck in Kermanshah have been summoned and questioned by security forces in the past few weeks. Erfan Rashid was also released temporarily on July 12 on a bail of 50 million Tomans after spending 8 days at the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Centre (known as the oil square) in the city of Kermanshah. Mr Rashidi played an important role in controlling the fires at Horaman forest along with other environmental activists in addition to helping the earthquake victims in camps at Sarpol-Zahab and the suburbs for several months.
