Nashmil Ghoytasi from Mahabad was sentenced to one-year of discretionary imprisonment by branch one of Orumiyeh Military Court on charges of acting against national security. She was arrested earlier in April and released on bail a month later.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that Nashmil Ghoytasi, wife of the death row Kurdish political prisoner, Arsalan Khodkam, was arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence forces and transferred to the IRGC Intelligence office in Orumiyeh, three days after her husband was detained.

She was interrogated for one month about her husband’s activities. After interrogations, she was temporarily released on a bail of one hundred and fifty million Tomans.

Her trial was held last week without the presence of a lawyer at Branch 1 of the Orumiyeh military court and She was sentenced to one year of imprisonment on charges of acting against national security.

It is noteworthy that Arsalan Khodkam, a member of the Hamza Seyyed al-Shohada headquarter affiliated with IRGC, was arrested on April 2 on the charge of spying for the Kurdish Democratic Party and sentenced to death by branch one of the Orumiyeh Military Court on July 14, 2018. Earlier this October, the death sentence of this political prisoner was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
