Abdulsalam Mardan Razegh, a Kurdish prisoner of conscience, was transferred to the prison clinic and taken to a hospital outside prison from the Orumiyeh Central Prison due to fever and chills, an informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The prison clinic has announced that the prisoner had been transferred to the hospital for coronavirus testing.

Previously, at least 5 other prisoners suspected of Coronavirus had been transferred to a special quarantine section after being returned from the hospital. The prisoners have been taken back to their wards in the last few days.

Abdulsalam Mardan Razegh, a prisoner of conscience from Oshnavieh (Shno in Kurdish), had gone on hunger strike for more than a month in February in protest to the uncertainty of his situation. He was detained on October 29 on charges of “membership in Salafi groups” but there has been no decision on his case yet.
