“Naji Tamozadeh, a member of the village council of Barde Sapi Village, was arrested by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Orumiyeh in June 2014 along with 15 other Kurdish people. He was detained for two months in the IRGC detention centre in Orumiyeh and interrogated on charges of cooperating with one of the Kurdish parties.” an informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“Following the completion of the interrogations, this political prisoner was transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison along with other detained citizens. Later, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Branch 2 of Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court on charges of cooperating with one of the Kurdish parties,” the source said.

According to the source, “After the lawyer of Naji Tamozadeh protested against the political decree issued regarding this political prisoner, his case was sent to the Orumiyeh Appeal Court, which decreased the sentence to three-and-a-half years of imprisonment”.
