Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): Jalal Rostami, an environmental activist from Shahini village of Kamyaran and resident of Ramsar in northern Iran, was arrested by security forces at his workplace and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj two days later.

According to the information obtained by KHRN Jalal Rostami was arrested by a security team at his workplace- a confectionary shop in Ramsar- on Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was kept in the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Ramsar for two days and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj on Saturday, March 16.

Over the past few months, nearly 20 Kurdish environmental activists have been arrested by security forces in Kamyaran, Marivan, Sanandaj. Some of these detainees have been released on bail in recent days, but some other detainees are still in custody.

Sahar Kazemi and Kaveh Babamaradi are still held at Sanandaj Prison while Arman Vafaei, Fardin Karimi, Afshin Sheikholeslami Vatani, Armin Espelos, Idris Mohammadi and Awat Karami are held at the Detention Centre of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) while Homayoon Bahmani, Rashed Montazeri, Isa Feizi, Sirwan Ghorbani and Hadi Kamangar are held at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj.
