A Kolbar from Kamyaran lost his life on Saturday, May 6, due to falling from high mountains of Nawsood region after being pushed by a frontier soldier during a dispute..

“On Sunday afternoon, some of my friends from Kamyaran and I were confronted by the border forces in our way to the Sony Nowsood’s border area.” One of the companions of this Kolbar, who has witnessed the incident, told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“We go to Oramanat(Hewaraman) several times a month for carrying goods but this time we did not carry any cargo. However, we were confronted and offended by one of the border guards who pushed one of our companions called”Mohammad Karim Rahmani” to the bottom of the mountains intentionally after a verbal dispute.”

According to the source, as well as the testimony of four other members of his team, Mohammad Karim Rahmani immediately lost his life due to the severity of the injuries and his body was transferred to the health centre of Nawsood by other kolbars and local people. The security forces also blocked entry and exit of the local people to the health centre to prevent the release of this news.

The body of 43 year old Mohammad Karim Rahmani, married from the village of Loun Sadat/Kamyaran district, was transferred to his village and buried there..

Fearing that his incident may lead to serious protests, Police officials told the Kolbar family that the officer (who murdered this kolbar) has been detained and he would be prosecuted in the near future.
