“Mansour Gerje”, a Kolbar from Sardasht, was killed by direct shooting of Iranian border guards in the border area of Sardasht while two other kolbars “ Gharib Azizadeh and Saman (Family name Unknown) were injured on Monday evening during the shooting of border guards in the border area of Shno.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that Iranian border guards around “Kani Zard” of Sardasht have targeted a group of kolbars on Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2019. As a result, a 23-year-old kolbar “Mansour Gerje” has been killed. This kolbar was married and his wife is pregnant.

According to another report, on Monday night, July 8, 2019, the border forces inside the Kurdistan region in the Kilah Shin area fired at a group of kolbars and wounded two kolbar known as “Gharib Azizadeh” from Piranshahr and “Saman” (Family name Unknown) from Mahabad.

According to data collected by KHRN, four kolbars and Businessmen have been killed by direct shooting of the forces while seven others have been injured since mid June.

Following the increase of unemployment rates in Kurdistan, more Kurdish citizens have turned into Kolbari. According to the statements made by Seyyed Ahsan Alavi- the representative of Sanandaj and Kamyaran in the Iranian parliament- during his interview with the Khaneh Mellat website, there are more than a hundred thousand Kolbars in Kurdistan province. Moreover, according to the Iran Statistics Centre, the highest rate of inflation during the past 12 months was related to Kurdistan province with an inflation rate of 45.1%. The highest inflation rate in June (60.3%) belongs to Ilam Province.
