Last week, a citizen of Sanandaj, who was arrested following street celebrations in support of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence was released on bail while two other citizens were detained by security forces in Sanandaj and Dehgolan.

“On Monday, Nov 6, 2017, Shahram Babaie from Sanandaj who was arrested on Aug 25, 2017, was released on a bail of 100 million Tomans,” An informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“The Kurdish citizen was held at the Intelligence Detention centre of Sanandaj, and only once was allowed to call his family. He was released temporarily on bail after being transferred to the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj,” the source said.

According to reports, in the wake of the wave of arrest of Kurdish citizens, last week two citizens known as “Madih Fathi” (from Sanandaj) and “Khabat Amiri”,(a civil activist from Dehgolan) were arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

Despite their families’ follow-ups, the judicial and intelligence authorities have still not provided any information about the reason for the arrest of these detainees and where they are being detained.
