A Civil Activist from Mariwan, who was previously arrested after being summoned by the Mariwan Intelligence Headquarters, was released from Mariwan Prison on bail.

“On Monday, November 06, Weria Delangiz (Kurdish activist) who was arrested on Tuesday, September 4, after being summoned to Mariwan Intelligence Office, was released on a bail of 40 million Tomans from Mariwan Prison,” An informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“This civil activist was summoned and arrested following street celebrations in support of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence had been on hunger strike for 16 days in protest to his arrest,” the source added.

According to the above source, Weria Delangiz was interrogated for 34 days at the Intelligence Detention Centres of Mariwan and Sanandaj before being transferred to the Mariwan Prison from the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Centre on Oct 29, 2017.
