Governor of Eslamabad-e Gharb has announced that more than 1000 had been registered in this city during the first 8 months of Iranian calendar while there have also been 38 marriages of children under 15 years old in Eslamabad-e Gharb”.

Kudistan Human Rights Network (KHRN)- according to Eslamabad News: “More than 1000 marriages have been registered at the notary public offices of this county during the first 8 months of the Iranian calendar.”, Afshin Karimi, Eslamabad-e Gharb’s governor, said during the meeting for registration of vital events.

“1428 births, 585 deaths, 1041 marriages and 212 divorces have been registered during the past eight months. 52 of the divorces related to the neighbouring cities have been registered in the county’s offices,”, he stated.

“In 2017, the average marriage age in this city was 29 for men and 25 for women while the average divorce age was 35 for men and 30 for women. We strongly recommend the counselling and reconciliation centres to provide expert advice to the parties and encourage them to compromise.”, he said.

“There are 38 registered marriages in the city under the age of 15, and it is time that relevant institutions pay attention to this matter. Families should also consider the age of their children for marriage through counselling as this issue can affect many people their life in the future.“, he added.
